Velayudham features Vijay, Genelia, Hansika and Saranya Mohan in crucial roles while Santhanam, MS Bhasker, Sathyan, Pandirajan, Sayaji Shinde and 14 other main from villains from Mumbai play the rest supporting roles. Directed by Jayam Raja the film is a n out and out mass entertainer with all commercial elements.
A press statement released by Aascar Films reveals “Velayudham’s shooting got wrapped up by almost 80%. Vijay plays the role of a milkman in the film, Hansika plays his love interest who lives in his village, Saranya Mohan is featured as Vijay’s sister and Genelia will sport as a daring and dashing journalist in the film. The album of Velayudham comprises of five songs and the film carries six deadly and terrific action scenes which were by Anal Arasu. The audio of Velayudham is going to be launched at Nehru Stadium in Chennai very soon."
As the things are moving as per the plans, Velayudham has brighter chances of getting its theatrical release on Vijay's birthday (June 22), and the film is one of the hottest in the trade.
Vijay Antony has scored the music while Priyan worked as a cameraman.
