Kothari was born in Kolkata, but she moved to Delhi while she was in grade 10 and got her degree in chemistry from Delhi University at Dayal Singh College. Born on November 30, 1983 she became popular in her telugu film "Adavi". This film faced criticism for excessive exposing and unnecessary showing of partial nudity.
