Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides – English Movie Review

The Pirates of the Caribbean series, have been a special fantasy for its fans.  The moment they see the logo of a skeleton and the stylish-crazy look of Jack Sparrow, they go gaga over it.  Of course, it’s unstoppable and quite irresistible as well.  Especially, in Asia, It was ‘Jack Sparrow’ character that made Johnny Depp a familiar character and not his world renowned films like ‘Ninth Gate’ and ‘Public Enemies’.  Director Rob Marshall takes for an adventurous ride that looks to be quite cliched now, but it’s a big treat for the ardent buffs of ‘POC’ series.  However, it is worth mentioning that the first part was a fabulous show while the second and third edition turned out to be a mere disappointment.
So, how to quote the fourth one? Does it fall into the category of the first one or its following series? Have a look into the synopsis and let’s have our analysis.
Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) crosses paths with a woman from his past (Cruz), and he’s not sure if it’s love -or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth.  When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Mc Shane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.
The usual traits that ascribe the grandiloquence of ‘Pirates of Caribbean’ are the unexplored deep rooted forests, the stylish crazy Jack Sparrow with some iron-legged hotties beside him (This time Penelope Cruz) and the action packed sequences.  Well, this one doesn’t run short of any such factors.  Naturally, if you’re ready to accept the same repetitions here, then there is nothing to care about.  Just purchase your tickets, sit back and enjoy the show.
Well, with performance, Jack Sparrow (we would like to call Johnny Depp with this brand name as it is much familiar than his real identity).  Watch out for his unparalleled flair command over the panache of dialogues.  But, we miss the other pairs that are usually played by Orlando Bloom and Keira Kinghtley.  This time we have a brand new pair of Sam Claffin and Astrid Berges.  They wow you with their hot screen chemistry.  Penelope looks little aged, but as you’ll see her with Johnny Depp, it doesn’t leave us to think about anything on this factor.  Mc Shane is brilliant with his performance and he sticks to the core of his character.  At places, he stands out overshadowing Johnny Depp, but only to a certain extent.
Rob Marshall and his team of writers keep the adventurous drama going for 146 minutes, which is considerably good.  When it comes to technical vistas, the first person to win the honors could be the location manager for taking us to through the jaw-dropping locations and second one to fetch the appreciations is cinematographer Dariusz Wolski.
So as we mentioned earlier, just restrict yourselves to little expectations and you will enjoy the show.
