As well as Crowe the film has go a release date nailed down;the film will attempt to sing it way into our Christmas hearts on the 7thof December 2012.
Jackman has been cast as Jean Valjean, for some time, butcasting the other main character, Valjean’s nemesis Inspector Javert, has beena long process, not least because the role required another actor with strongsinging ability.
The film is being produced by Cameron Mackintosh, whoproduced the stage musical and the original score / songs by ComposerClaude-Michel Schoenberg is also to be used. The film has been adapted from theoriginal musical by William Nicholson and that was, of course, based on theoriginal novel by Victor Hugo.
Both Crowe and Russell (who share a link of sorts with Crowebeing the original choice to play Wolverine in Bryan Singer’s X-Men, but rovingtoo expensive) and whilst Jackman will be rushing off from filming Les Mis tothe set of The Wolverine; Crowe will fly off to play the father of Kal-El AKASuperman, in Man of Steel.
